The “Heritage DNA” awards, organized by the National Commission for Cultural Heritage, have received numerous nominations from across Lithuania. Candidates in three categories – individuals most distinguished in the field of cultural heritage, the best-maintained properties, and the most successful initiatives – were nominated by Lithuanian municipalities and residents. These awards will be held only once every four years, coinciding with the term of one Heritage Commission.
The winners will be announced and acknowledgments presented at the “Heritage DNA” awards ceremony on September 29, which will take place at the Lithuanian Presidential Palace, the patron of the project.
Heritage Commission is an expert and advisor to the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, President of the Republic of Lithuania and to Government of the Republic of Lithuania regarding the national policy of cultural heritage protection, its implementation, evaluation and improvement.
