The project focuses on highlighting the international impact and continuation of the works of Lithuanian architects, engineers, and artists who emigrated due to historical circumstances. Although significant in Lithuania, the post-World War II contributions of these figures in countries like the USA, Australia, Brazil, and South Africa have not been well documented or publicized. The project aims to address this gap by researching and disseminating information about these creators and their influence abroad. This includes those who studied in interwar Lithuania and continued their work overseas, as well as diaspora personalities who inherited the creative legacy of notable interwar Lithuanian artists.
The cultural value of the project lies in its ability to maintain connections with Lithuanian communities abroad and make knowledge about the relevant national heritage accessible internationally.
The project will gather and input 100 points into a database, showcasing stories of Lithuanian artists and architects who gained international acclaim. It will collaborate with Lithuanian embassies, communities, and museums in the USA, South Africa, and Australia. Results will be featured in radio and TV programs, lectures for students, and a final event with international partners.
