During Faro meeting on November 15th –16th in Lithuania, a chairperson of National Commission for Cultural Heritage Evelina Karalevičienė emphasized: „Faro convention – it as an ode for democracy, it is our dialogue, it is our attention for every person and for every object of cultural heritage. National Commission for Cultural Heritage has already submitted the proposal for the Parliament of the Republic of the Lithuania, for President of the Republic of the Lithuania and for Government that Lithuania should sign a Faro convention. We are also glad to see that the ideas of Faro convention are getting more and more known and used among active heritage communities. There are a lot of signs that Lithuania will join a Faro convention and it is only a question of time. At the moment, everything depends on the Ministry of Culture which has to prepare the required documents. However, the signing of the convention it is just a first step, after which a responsible job it is needed. We have to find the best ways how to turn a document into practice and implement it in our country, but we will do that”.
